Overview
On the scenic Panorama Route between the majestic Drakensberg Mountains and the sparkling waters of the Blyde River lies Blyde River Canyon Lodge. In an 85 hectare Botanical Reserve at the foot of the Blyde River Canyon, the area boasts a wealth of fauna and flora. The water courses are well populated with hippo and crocodiles, while the reserve is home to impala, wildebeest, zebra, bushbuck, duiker, steenbuck, kudu and bushpig. Visit Bourke's Luck Potholes, Three Rondawels, God's Window and the unique Blyde River Canyon, considered to be one of the natural wonders of Southern Africa and the third largest canyon in the world. Kruger Park, home to Africa's wildlife and the Big Five, is just a 40-minute drive away. Make yourself at home in the relaxed atmosphere surrounded by African country charm and park-like gardens where zebras graze beneath a canopy of ancient Jackalberry trees. Six double/twin rooms, one Honeymoon room and one Family Cottage offer TV, air-conditioning, fridge, and tea trays. Most lead out onto the tranquil gardens where you can laze at the pool, walk to the river, or enjoy a range of massages at the private river-side gazebo. Generous breakfasts are served on the outside deck from which you can watch zebra and wildebeest wander by. Delicious lunches and dinners by prior arrangement enjoyed under the African sky or in the inviting dining room next to the fire on cold winter nights. Numerous adventure activities in the area include river rafting and tubing, micro lighting, abseiling, hot air ballooning, kloofing, quad bikes, private game drives, horse riding, elephant back safaris and hiking trails. 4-Star Lodge | Children welcome | Wi-Fi throughout.
